Trip Description

With so many people using indoor climbing walls these days there's a real ambition amongst many of you to make the step towards outdoor rock climbing.

This weekend is designed to cover all the important basics allowing you to enjoy safe rock climbing outdoors.

The weekend is designed to match the needs of complete beginners or those who've done some climbing but want some formal training to make the next steps.

Because of the many differing aspirations that we encounter from one weekend to the next the programme is very flexible and is a good mix of learning and enjoying some climbing routes too.

For example; the grades of climbs and the nature of the teaching can be quite basic for those groups that require a more gentle approach to their first climbs.

Or, if you've done some climbing already we can try harder grades and also run learning to lead climb sessions which focus on placing of gear and rope management.

The weekend programme will be decided by the instructor, at the time, so as to get the most out of your time.

Lots of challenge amidst great mountain scenery and the inevitable tall tales over a pint in the Lochcarron hotel
