Applecross Trust
Categories: Arts, Crafts & Things To Do
The Applecross Trust, a conservation charity with responsibility for 26,700 hectares was established in 1975 for the preservation for the public benefit of the Applecross Estate. A consultation process developed 4 interlocking themes:
• Maintaining the unique and historic character of the Estate in a sustainable context
• Promoting the environmental protection of the amenities of the Estate for the public benefit
• Facilitating and encouraging access and appreciation of the Estate
• Facilitating and encouraging activities for the advancement of education, arts, heritage, culture and science, or in the interests of social welfare.
The Trust's conservation programme includes the preservation of the area’s built and cultural heritage but equally, is keen to identify new opportunities which could be developed innovatively and in partnership with the community.
