Hillwalking at the best time of year

Trip Description

As the highest peak in Scotland, the lure of Ben Nevis is obvious. We'll attempt this during the week as well as visiting some of the magnificent summits of the great ridges in the area.

The North and South sides of Glencoe offer tremendous ascents via the lost valley and from opposite ends of the Aonach Eagach ridge. Surrounding Ben Nevis, the high peaks of the Mamores offer expansive views across glens to the west coast and all in the shadow of 'The Ben'.

This is a great week for bagging those winter Munros of Lochaber, learning new skills, and building confidence as a winter hillwalker and standing on the highest place in the British Isles.

Typical Itinerary

Day One: Meet at town centre meeting point (TBA on booking) or we will pick you up from your accommodation if you are a bit farther out of the town centre. Our first hill day will start with an Ascent through the Lost Valley to explore the 1150m Bidean nam Bian. Some ice axe, crampon and safety training will be taught high in the corrie on the way and if weather permits we'll carry on to Stob Coire Sgreamhach at 1072m.

Day Two - Five: Spend time exploring some or all of the following peaks:

Meall Dearg 953 m

Sgorr nam Fiannaidh 967 m

Ben Nevis 1344 m

Sgurr Coinneach Mor 1094 m

Stob Coire an Laoigh 1116 m

Stob Ban 977

All routes subject to change according to weather and group fitness.
