"it would not have been possible to pack so much into the weekend without your superb organisation and local knowledge. It was a long way to come from London but worth every minute to blow away all the stress of work. For the sake of my sanity I think I'll need to do several of these trips next summer. Can't wait to come back. Top marks on your equipment, care of group, and of course the excellent fresh meals - don't know how you manage on such small camping pots!" James Whittle June 2014

Sea kayak weekend

"although we paddle lots of short trips with our club we learned loads and had a mini expedition surpassing anything we would have achieved on our own. What I liked was the fact that you where always keen that we improved, enabling us to potentially run our own trips in the future. Don't worry though, even though you don't seem concerned about doing yourself out of a job us 'leisure' paddlers will always look to your longer itineraries after seeing how organised and professional you are at Mountain & Sea Guides. The food by the way was a revelation. No more dehydrated meals for us as we'll follow your fresh veg example in future!" Brian Jones Aug 2015

Trip Description

This is a great escape for those of you wanting to enjoy wild expedition paddling over a weekend.

Ditch work on Friday, get to us by Saturday morning and we'll form a plan, pack and head to any of the numerous islands, beaches and shorelines of the Inner Sound off the Applecross Peninsula.

You'll be back to work on monday fully refreshed and slightly smug as your colleagues may well have slumped in front of the TV for two days.

The Islands of Raasay, Rona, Scalpay and the Crowlins are all possible over two days.

You'll be fully involved in all aspects of planning for the weather, tides and routes allowing a chance to develop confidence towards future expeditions.

We'll meet on the Saturday morning so that you can arrive anytime on the previous friday evening.

Having checked all of the kayaking equipment, and issued any camping gear you need, we'll gather together all of the food and pack the kayaks.

By lunch time you'll be far away from the crowds and lunching on a beach somehwere on the Applecross shoreline or the islands of the Inner Sound or the great sea fjord of Loch Torridon.

After spending a night at one of the many wild camping locations in the area we'll wake to form a plan to paddle back to a landing  spot to complete the weekend.

This weekend is a great precursor to our longer trips such as the Isles of Raasay & Rona Expedition, the Arctic Lofoten Islands, the broughton Archipeligo Canada and the Dalmatian islands of Croatia.

This trip can also be run on any two week days for a minimum group of three booking together.
