16 Scallops and crispy bacon on a bed of wild rice

Our meals and snacks are served from 12pm to 9pm in the bar/dining area, or alfresco if the weather is favourable.

Our menus are wide ranging offering snacks, starters, main meals and daily specials during food service. We also cater for our younger visitors and those with special dietary requirements, including allergies.

Please note we do not offer a breakfast service to non residents from the beginning of March till the end of October. The local Walled Garden restaurant offer full breakfast service from 8.30am every morning during this time.

Christmas & New Year

Please be advised we are closed on Christmas Day for food, the bar is open from 12.30pm till 3.30pm for drinks only.

On New Years Day AND the 2nd of January, the bar is closed all day for food and drinks (we like to enjoy it too!). Otherwise normal service applies.

Dining Reservations

New Years Eve 2017

Please note we are normally very busy in the bar on Hogmanay (New Years Eve). If you are planning to come and dine with us from 5pm onwards you MUST book. We will accept bookings for groups of all numbers. Space in the bar is limited and as the only dining option open in the local area we can only accommodate a limited number of diners at this time of year.

Bookings (6 people or less)

We do not normally accept group bookings for dining for less than 6 people. Instead, if we are busy in the bar/dining area, non-resident, dining customers are seated in turn. Residents are automatically reserved a table for dinner. If we are busy our friendly staff will help you with a table. Please be advised that the Inn can get very busy during the peak season. So, if you are flexible with your dining times it may be better to avoid peak lunch and dinner times.

Group Bookings ( 6 people or more)

We encourage larger groups, for 6 or more people, to book ahead for dining. This will help us to accommodate you better. Bookings for these larger groups must be for 6pm or 8pm on Friday and Saturday evenings, during the peak season.

Food and Drink Provenance

Here at the Inn we aim to source our quality ingredients for our dishes as locally as is viable, or at the very least try and remain Scottish! To help achieve this we are favoured by our beautiful seaside location and great range of local suppliers. We are however sometimes hindered by our remoteness! Other factors such as seasonality and the weather can affect what we have on offer but we endeavour to offer alternatives when possible. To accompany our delicious local food we try and stay Scottish with our drinks too!

For more information please refer to our Food and Drink Provenance Map and Statement.

Food and Drink Menus

Please see copies of our regular everyday and special menus below, as per above, the items on offer may vary depending on availability and seasonality. The prices too may vary from those stated but we do try to keep them up to date.

Here is our current Wine, Champagne, Whisky and Scottish Gin menu.

Please be aware that the Inn, including the bar/dining area is non smoking, including vaping!
